I remember years ago, as a boy growing up in Streator, at Christmas time one special item my family always bought was a box of caramel turtles from George's Candies. They were the absolute best in the world! I eventually moved, but never forgot George's great candies...especially his caramels! Returning to Streator for a high school reunion around 2002, I was surprised to find caramel apples being sold that looked just like the ones George used to make...and found they were the SAME....only now were made in Minonk! I tracked down the company, and have been ordering their chocolates now since to send to friends and family for Christmas and birthdays.
